The Plain of Jars archaeological landscape comprises thousands of megalithic stone jars scattered across the Xieng Khouang plateau in Laos. The government of Lao PDR is preparing documentation for tentative listing of the The Plain of Jars site for inscription into the UNESCO World Heritage List. This project will develop a new way for locating and conserving the jar sites using a UAV drone photogrammetry and light detection and ranging (lidar) technology.
